Article 1. General Provisions

StarUp (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) regards the privacy of users as highly important and complies with legal regulations related to personal information, such as the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and the Personal Information Protection Act, and has established a personal information processing policy to protect the rights and interests of users. If the Company revises its personal information processing policy, it will notify you through website notices.

 

Article 2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal information 

A. Items of personal information collected

The Company collects the following personal information for membership registration, service provision, consultation, and prevention of misuse.

1) During member registration

- Email, password

2) When signing up by Social Media account

-Social media ID, name, password, email

3) When purchasing member products

- Order information (e-mail address, name, Zoom email, Zoom name), delivery information (Country, address, phone number, name), payment method information such as credit card information and bank account information, information such as payment records

4) Refund

- Refund account information (PayPal name, PayPal email)

5) Information automatically generated during service use

- Service use records, IP address, cookies, visit date and time, bad use records, device information (unique device identification value, OS version), ADID, IDFA

6) When applying for an event

- Order information (name, email address), applicant information (Zoom email, Zoom name)

7) When handling customer disputes and conducting consultations

- Name, e-mail address, consultation history

 B. Collection method

When users sign up as members to use membership services, the Company receives essential information to provide services online. Additionally, during surveys or events within the service, you may be asked to selectively enter personal information for statistical analysis or prize provision. However, we do not collect sensitive personal information (race and ethnicity, ideology and creed, place of origin and domicile, political inclination and criminal record, health status and sexual life, etc.) that may infringe on the user's basic human rights, and if collection is unavoidable, the Company will seek the customer’s prior consent.

 

Article 3. Purpose of collection and use of personal information

The Company processes the personal information of members for the following purposes and will not use it for any other purpose:

- Member management: Identification and verification of members, notification and delivery of notices to members

- Member consultation processing: Receipt of member consultations and complaints, notification of processing results

- Service provision: Providing services and improving service quality, preventing misuse within the service, developing new services/technologies, providing personalized services

- Reward or product delivery

- Product payment, settlement, refund processing

   

Article 4. Retention and use period of personal information

The Company retains and uses customers' personal information for the period during which notice and consent have been received. Upon fulfillment of personal information collection purpose, end of retention period, or withdrawal of consent, collected personal information is destroyed. However, personal information may be retained for a period as specified below if prior consent has been obtained or if required by relevant laws. In cases of consent or account withdrawal, the information will be stored separately. However, in the following cases, the Company may retain the personal information until the relevant reason is resolved: 

1) In the event of an ongoing investigation due to a violation of relevant laws.

2) In the case of remaining claims and obligations related to site usage until settlement.

 

Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph 1, the Company may retain the personal information of members for up to one year after membership withdrawal to prevent re-registration and block unauthorized usage.

The Company may retain personal information in accordance with relevant laws as follows:

A. Reasons for retaining information according to the Company’s internal policy

- Illegal use record: Prevention of illegal use

- Retention period: 1 year from the date of illegal use

 

B. Reasons for retaining information in accordance with relevant laws and regulations

- Records on contracts or subscription withdrawals, etc.: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)

- Records of payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)

- Records of consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)

- Records of visits (logs): 3 months (Telecommunications Basic Act)

 

Article 5. Procedure for destroying personal information

A. The Company promptly destroys personal information upon fulfillment of personal information collection purpose, end of retention period, or withdrawal of consent in accordance with "Article 4. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information."

B. Personal Information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration, and personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that prevent its recovery

  

Article 6. Provision of personal information to third parties

The Company may provide or use personal information for purposes other than the intended purpose to third parties only with the consent of the member under Article 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act and when permitted by relevant laws.

 

Article 7. Entrustment of processing of personal information

The Company entrusts personal information processing to provide services smoothly, and stipulates necessary matters to ensure that personal information is safely managed when consignment contracts are made in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

If the Company needs to provide (including sharing) personal information within a limited scope to business partners or third-party organizations through a partnership agreement or to use the collected personal information for purposes other than the intended purpose, the Company shall notify the members of the following details and obtain prior consent before implementation:

1) The recipient of the personal information

2) Purpose of using the personal information by the recipient

3) Items of personal information provided

4) Retention and use period of the personal information by the recipient

5) The right to refuse consent and the content of any disadvantages resulting from refusal

 

The Company's current personal information processing trustee and its duties are as follows.

When entrusting work to an external Company, the Company prohibits processing of personal information for purposes other than the purpose of performing the entrusted work, technical and managerial protection measures, restrictions on re-entrustment, management and supervision of the trustee, and compensation for damages in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act through contracts, etc. We regulate matters related to responsibility, etc., and manage and supervise compliance with them.

If the details of the entrusted work or the trustee changes, we will disclose it through this personal information processing policy without delay.

 

Article 8. Rights of users and legal representatives and methods of exercising them

A. Members can view or modify the registered personal information of themselves or children under the age of 14 at any time, and may also request cancellation of membership (withdrawal of consent).

B. If a user requests correction of an error in personal information, the personal information will not be used or provided until the correction is completed. Additionally, if incorrect personal information has already been provided to a third party, we will notify the third party of the result of the correction without delay so that the correction can be made.

C. The Company processes personal information canceled or deleted at the request of the user or legal representative as specified in “Article 4. Retention and use period of personal information” and processes it so that it cannot be viewed or used for any other purpose.

 

Article 9. Matters related to cookie operation

In order to provide personalized and customized services, the Company uses ‘cookies’ to store user information and retrieve it from time to time. A cookie is a very small text file that the server used to run the Company's website sends to the user's browser and is stored on the user's computer hard disk.

A. Purpose of use of cookies, etc.

Providing target marketing and customized services by analyzing the user's access frequency and visit time, identifying user's tastes and interests, tracking traces, and determining the participation level in various events and number of visits.

B. Installation/operation of cookies

Users have the option to install cookies. Therefore, users can allow all cookies by setting options in their web browser, confirm each time a cookie is saved, or refuse to save all cookies.

C. How to refuse cookie settings

To refuse cookie settings, you can allow all cookies, confirm each time you save a cookie, or refuse to save all cookies by selecting the options in the web browser you are using. However, if the user refuses to install cookies, there may be difficulties in providing services.

  

Article 10. Changes to the Privacy Policy

In the event of additions, deletions, or modifications to the contents of the privacy policy, the Company shall announce the revised contents through the website or app at least 7 days prior to the effective date of the revised privacy policy.
